Shake it up and drink it!
We try to eat our fruits and veggies every day, but sometimes it easy to forget. We’re not proud to say that we’ve often gone days without a good salad, and we’ve been known to let our fruits over-ripen in the fridge before we get to eating them.
Point is, we could do better. Now we’re not about to advocate replacing real fruits and vegetables with juice, but when consumed in moderate quantities as part of a balanced diet, some juices and smoothies can be a good way to add positive vitamins and nutrients into our body.
So, how does this Very Green 100% Juice Smoothie rate? First off, we noticed it tasted pretty sweet. Thankfully there are no added sugars, but the apple, mango and pineapple gave it an unmistakable sweetness. So much so that we decided to cut the drink with water to balance it out. (Bonus: the drink will last you longer!)
As for the texture, this smoothie has a good body. It flows more like a juice than a traditional smoothie, and it is only very slightly pulpy – but not at all gritty or piecey. It was pleasant, in a “there’s-real-fruit-in-here” kind of way.
You’ll no doubt notice that the color is a bit muddy with a brownish hue, but that didn’t bother us at all. When you mix a bunch of green fruits, that’s what you get!
Overall, we were very satisfied with this drink. It reminded us of Naked’s Green Machine, but at a much better value (we snagged ours for $4.99 for a 32 oz bottle).
